I'd buy it for $100, custom paint it, drop a new arm/arm bearings and center bearing on it, and it'd be a nice table.

Due to large number of responses, he's asking I take the records too. So...8-10 crates of records (of questionable condition), a mouse infested DJ coffin, a mixer, and an SL1200MK2 for $200. He's not doing so great on the communication side of things. I'll check it out tomorrow. It sounds like a good deal. Not a great deal.
It really depends on how bad it is. I don't care about the coffin. The mixer is worth ~$75. If the TT is in decent shape, it's worth ~$200 cleaned up. The cart might be worth something as well. The records could be salvageable, also depending on how bad it is. I'm thinking, with a bit of work, there could be ~$350 worth of goods here.

It sounds, looks, and smells like someone else's problem. That may be good money you shell out to make it yours.
Exactly my concern. I know someone died of it when cleaning out their old cottage. Believe it or not, it wasn't properly diagnosed, so his Son went after to finish the job and got it too. Fortunately, they caught it the second time and he made a full recovery.
I see that it's been deleted. I've been in contact with the seller. Supposedly, I'm picking the stuff up tomorrow. I've asked him to call me 3 times. No call. He's really being shady. I don't even really want the stuff.
My curiosity is killing me. I just want to see what this situation really is. On one hand, based on the gear and record collection, the guy seems somewhat intelligent. He had a hobby and lost interest. On the other hand we have sketchy mouse ****.
I'm staying away unless the guy can provide pics and an intelligent description of this stuff. You can't catch mouse flu on the internet.

Time has told me...
I would say I wouldn't deal with anything full of mouse crap or mold or the combination of the 2 but I have had my run ins. I bought a phonograph that was full of petrified mouse poo and I also went to a collapsed bard and store to dig through mounds of moldy crap to find radio parts. I did find some nice balloon tubes. Of course if the price is right I might do it again....but be very very very cautious!

Yeah, I would do the same. Plenty of one-shot Dj's selling there stuff...no need to get in a bad situation for some stuff you don't need.
The real question here is; how in the world did mice get into this stuff?:sigh:...personally, if he were asking any amount of money on a turntable that had to have work, I would expect a picture...
If you do get it, I hope all it needs is some cleaning...seems like a nice table.
Edit: not to put anyone off, but I would be extremly careful if he's not even willing to call or anything. What type of neighborhood is his house in? I would be careful if I were walking in with $200 cash...
