Mlb 2013

Cards win over the Reds 6-1. Pirates lose. Cards lead the NL Central by 1.5 games. The upcoming series against the Pirates is huge.

I just want them to make the playoffs haha..

They would have to really take another dive to not make the playoffs. I don't see that happening, even though they have lost their last 3 games. If they can stay focused and patient at the plate the Pirates will make the playoffs, no problem. The times I have watched them play their patience at the plate has been excellent. If they start feeling a lot of pressure and start chasing pitches, they could struggle. And once they make the playoffs, anything can happen. NL Central has been great this year as usual.

Pirates acquire Marlon Byrd and John Buck from the Mets.

The Mets say they traded Byrd since he's a free agent at the end of the season but they failed to build up who they got in return. True, he wouldn't sign again with the Mets as the Mets are broke. They badly need a quality catcher and were forced to unload Buck. The Pirates were smart to have Buck included to tale Byrd off the Mets hands. Gary Cohen, Ron Darling & Keith Hernandez downplayed the trade darning tonight's game. The Mets have give away Tuesday so they can fill the stands when the camera pans the crowd. It's a sorry situation as a Met fan from the beginning of their existence. Combine that with the possibility of loosing Harvey next season, it looks like another lost season next year.
Wait 'till next decade instead of next year.

The outlook for the Mets future did a 180* turn in the past 48 hours. I Remember 1967 when Seaver first came up. As a 9 year old, watching him pitch was a clinic for a kid that loved throwing a baseball. I remember running down after the games Seaver pitched to practice what I learned watching Seaver. I was hoping that todays kids would enjoy the same experience I did years ago. Still a chance it just will have to wait.

My O's are fading fast........ :(
Last two big series against Tampa and Boston and they have just played scared.
They seem to be a bit tighter now that they have some expectations to make the playoffs. Still I will take the last two years over everything from 1997-2011.

Colorado leads the Reds 6-3 in the top of the 6th, and could end up helping both the Pirates and Cards if they can finish the job.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired Justin Morneau in a trade with the Minnesota Twins on Saturday for Alex Presley .
I always liked Presley and I hope he gets to start .
WOW , the Buccos are getting serious .
