The Cards fought the law but the law won. They had their chances especially in the 8th down 3-2 when they had two men on with nobody out but failed to score. Jordan Walker for the Cards has cooled off from his hot start and went 0-4.
It would have been a nice game to see at Busch weather-wise. Perfect in the mid 70s.

Bryan Woo has some impressive stats, including a WHIP of .88. Kind of a standout last year finishing 5th in Cy Young votes.
The Cardinals fans had some mixed emotions last night. On one hand we wanted to see Brendan Donovan receive the traditional standing ovation former Cardinals star players receive upon their return to Busch, but on the other hand we were glad he is still on the DL because he is a pretty-awesome weapon we didn't really want to see used against us.
He was the one player most Cardinals fans didn't want to see go at any cost. The Mariners got a good one. I guess he has a groin injury but he'll be back.

Wow it's already 2-0 Mariners in the 1st after Julio Rodriguez just crushed a 2 run homer up into Big Mac Land. Not looking good for Matthew Liberatore.
Just catching up to live on the game... yeah acquiring Donovan was one of the better offseason moves, though I hadn't even seen him since the 2022 Wild Card series against the Phillies.

Yeah I think you can see why the Cardinals have one of (if not the) worst pitching staff in all of baseball this year.

Well that was because they hadn't played the 2026 Cardinals until this week.
You know the Cardinals must have pitching problems when they score 9 runs and end up using 8 pitchers and still manage to lose the game. lol
After the game the Cardinals talking heads were commenting about the game with their usual partisan spin saying how exciting it was and how the team, after putting up an awesome offensive exihibition but still losing the game, didn't blame the pitching staff. Really? OMG that was pathetic! None of the Cardinals pitchers could stop the Mariners. They all sucked!

It was funny, I was texting a friend of mine in PA who is a big Baltimore Orioles fan about how they killed Boston on Friday and he was laughing it up but then after Saturday's 17 run debacle he almost sounded suicidal. lol
That's the thing with baseball, it can be very frustrating if you are a dedicated fan of a particular team. Very frustrating because you know there are going to be dramatic ups & downs! Very dramatic!
...and the Cardinals are the heartbreak kids man!
I broke-out the bourbon tonight. Had 5 shots of Jim Beam single barrel (108 proof) and a couple ice-cold Buds. Feeeling pretty-good. I'll sleep good tonight.
Tomorrow's game is at 1:15PM Central again (11:15AM your time). Hopefully the Cards won't end up getting the "broom" from the Mariners.
