Can anyone identify the model of this Philips amp for me.

It's in an on-line auction and the seller says the writing on the case has been rubbed off over time.

Is it local on TM?

Looks like that local junk made by Allied Industries in the 1980's from here.....

Could be wrong though....got a picture of the back, there are a few telltale signs there......

Yep - the one on TM

see image of back

Yep, I'd wager that is made by Allied Industries, the labeling, the power cable and speaker terminals and the general layout of the rear panel give it away.....
I bet that there is a molded plug on the end of that cable with "Phillips" embossed on it somewhere.....

Its probably OK, but it will have average soldering (dry joints here and there), you'll never find a service manual for it, and the general construction will be very average.....

What are you after? Anything in particular or just looking for a bargain?

Thanks Kevzep. I think I'll keep the plastic in the pocket this time.

Just looking for a bargain on an integrated amp and I like 80s stuff. Thought the pricing was pretty low for a product of any quality.

Yeah, not much on TM at the moment.....I'd wait for something that actually an export model made in Japan that you can get the service manual for so that when you have to service it or get it serviced you can actually make some progress with it....
I had a Technics made by Allied under license, and it had a lot of problems, nothing serious, but took a long time to work through it with no service manual.....
Really bad workmanship too, one of those things where I am ashamed to be a New Zealander.....LOL.....
