Modelers Corner

@Lucius Mojo : I see that your trains runs very fast, and it seems that you have rather small radius curves... So what radiuses do you use here on your posted video ?

On my (always temporary) circuits, I use 072 or 096 curves (below) and run the trains rather slowly... But I could certainly them run as fast as yours !

Ok the upper loop is 0-42 and the lower is 0-31

This is my layout, though the video is 10 years old and the layout has been expanded with more features and animation. This is about how fast we run them. This is ~13 volts on the rails. We can go up to ~22.5 volts.

OK, no words for how great that is.

If I had the talent and skill, I would aspire to do whatyou do!

Mega kudos!!!!

I LOVE visiting the TCA National Toy Train Museum in Strasburg PA! The Standard Gauge layout is extraordinary to say the least, and my favorite gauge by far. Worth going out of your way to see if you every get to the East coast. I'm only an hour or so from it, and consider myself lucky.

It has some additional features : ON/OFF SW for the whistling unit, to allow DC running without permanent whistling ; cab lighting ; rear lights...

Looks like a 409 cid engine

Close. In 1958 (and in fact, any engine with that architecture between 1958 and 1961), that would have been a 348.

Looks like a 409 (same "W-block" architecture), just smaller bore and stroke.

Regards,
Gordon.
