Moth Audio shipping crate

Color Me Gone
I'd heard of the fine shipping crates Moth Audio uses but that left me unprepared when Airborne showed up with my amp...

I was just looking at the moth site, since you are such a fan of their amp what do you think of their speakers? These seem quite reasonable, the Cicada ones are only $559 a pair.

Cicada

Hey Thor, I've not had the pleasure myself, though I did research them and they have there share of fans. I will say they look VERY NICE. But that doesn't surprise me, as Craig has a keen design sense. There was some detailed comparisons between similiar single-drivers on AA, if you want to investigate. For the money (I believe they are discounted right now) I think you could do alot worse. I'm sure they aren't for everyone but what speaker is.

Those Cicada's are gorgeous. I love the moth symbol on the front. These would have a great WAF I think. Gonna keep these in mind for later if I don't manage to score a nice set of horn speakers. Hell for $595 it hardly seems worth the effort to go build a set of Adire HE-10's. The Cicada's look much nicer than the Adire's I've seen.

md,
"WAF" indicates "wife acceptance factor," generally audio gear that blends in with the decor or is relatively small.

As I remember, the glowing Listener review of the Cicadas pointed out that the prominent Moth insignia on the speakers was a little TOO much, so that aspect would lack WAF.
