Multiple turntables

I have one in permanent use in the dining room and one in permanent use in my listening room.

Of the other 39 I own at the moment, 11 are in an orderly queue for attention on the workbench and the other 28 are neatly stored in my loft room and swapped into my listening room system as deck number 2 according to whim.

39?!?!?!? Good lord! :tresbon:

Currently four: Clearaudio Emotion (main system), Revox B795 (bedroom system), Thorens TD-126 Mk2 (LP trials), Dual 1019 (78 rpm records).

Floating somewhere around 10 or 11 here, I keep two hooked to my main system in the listening room, but then I have a kitchen system with my Denon, a bedroom system, a porch system, tool shed system (Tough one with all the dust) soon to be basement system. The rest and new acquisitions, get rotated in and out. One or two here and there just pass through the house on their way to new homes. I am on my way to pick one up today along with a record collection that belongs to a friend on his way to an assisted living facility. I promised him a new home for both. I'll tune it up listen for a few weeks then donate it to some beginner, starting the circle of addiction again.

I have 4 in service and three that need new homes.

Dual 1257 in the living room (main system)
Dual 1225 in the office (nice office system)
BSR mini changer in the office (low-fi minicrap system)
Marantz in the bedroom (bedroom system)

Two other Duals (1237 & 1241) and a Technics are sitting on my office floor at the moment. Not counted: the busted up 1209 I disassembled, also on the floor right now.

All the ones in use get played, but the living room definitely sees the most play--I like having a changer for lots of music at a time.

HI All,
First, Merry Christmas to all.

I have three all hooked up to my main system in my listening room. The oldest is my Sota Nova vacuum turntable. At two years old is my Oracle Delphi V and the newest is my Thorens TD 125. The Sota Nova and Oracle are equipped with Eminent Technology 2.5 air bearing arms and the Throrens has a Graham 2.2 Deluxe unipivot arm. All have low output MC's. My Aesthetix Rhea phono preamp allow all to be connected and used at the push of a button.

I use the Sota for jazz and folk, etc., or badly warped records, the Oracle for classical and the Thorens for playing new used records that I may or may not keep. That's tough duty for a fine turntable.

As much as I love them, I'm definitely not a turntable collector. Not enough storage space.

Currently I have 7:

Music Hall MMF 5.1
Technics Sl1200 MK II
Pioneer PL-41 w/Sumiko FT-3 Tonearm (Highly Modded)
Sony PS-X6
Technics SL-Q2
Thorens TD 145 MKII
Dual 1254

I really need to keep my two favorites and sell or give the rest away. As of now, I think I may just keep the two at the top.

Six working, three set up.

Music Hall mmf-5 / signet TK 3ea in main system upstairs
Sanyo Plus Q25 / Qwest Ortofon 20 in den downstairs
Pioneer PL15DII / M97xe or AT440mla or Empire 400TC in den downstairs

Dual 506 / gonna get an Ortofon Omega I got for free, will trade this into the local record shop for credit

Technics SL23 - takes any of the carts in use with the Pioneer, might be daughter's first TT (she's five)
Technics SL220 - same as above, but might trade this one in for credit too. Don't like the plastic base.

I think I have enough for now, and won;t go digging for any more unless I see a nice DD or higher end belt drive at a yard sale or something.

I am new here and I currently own six turntables (and if all goes well, seven by the end of the evening). Yes, I am addicted to turntables. I am wondering how others manage having multiple turntables. Do you rotate them all or keep one as a primary and rotate the rest. It seems logical that they need to be used to stay functional. Am I wrong?

I totally understand where you're coming from! I'm also quite addicted to turntables. I have:...

VPI HW-19 (currently out of commission until I buy a new motor for it);

Two Technics SL-1200 (a Mk2 and a Mk5);

Technics SL-DD2;

Audio Technica AT-PL120

I've had several others, but those were either sold or otherwise downsized. And I definitely rotate them through my system(s)...I have a sound system in my living room and one in my bedroom.

I just love tinkering with all this stuff!!!

I have 4 in use, 1 Harmon KardonT45C, two Technics, (SL3300) (one linear) and a Garrard 100 zero. One is dedicated to CD4 records, one for regular quad and the other for stereo. The wife has the linear to help keep her fingers off her records. Have a Mitsubishi DP5 on the shelf and currently restoring a Technics SL1200 MK2, which needed extensive repairs, the tone arm was smashed and the cosmetics were in much need of repair as well. Aside from that, the electronics are fine. There is another Harmon Kardon T30C on my audio bench for recording vinyl to my computer for audio restoration purposes.

I have 2 'tables in my system. (One pretty good one and then a secondary for 78s & beat up LPs)

My integrated amp has no onboard phono section, so each turntable has its own external phono pre which are then hooked into regular inputs on the amp.

I have a habit, too. Believe it or not, this is less than it was:

VPI Classic.
Marantz/Clearaudio TT-15s1
Empire 208 (x2)
Lenco L70 (x2)
Mitsubishi LT-20
Pioneer PL-570
Sony 2251 (on loan to another AKer).

Only the VPI and Marantz are in use but one of the 208s is going to get mono duty and one of the L70s is going to be a 78 player.

I have owned a total of four turntable my entire life.
Dual 1225 which I gave to my piano when I got my
Hitachi HT-660 which was much better I use almost daily, I picked up a
Pioneer PL-12d, needs a new stylus. I gave it to my brother, who still hasn't gotten one
I also own a JVC something or other which doesn't work but I keep for cleaning.
