Regarding the film, "The Wrecking Crew":
One of my favorite musicians, Carol Kaye, has this to say about it from her website: (https://www.carolkaye.com)
"MESSAGE: "I'm always deeply devoted since the 1970s to the cause of studio musicians being recognized for the talent and full scope of their depth in helping to create the 1960s-70s hit records and movie/TV show soundtracks. The Denny Tedesco-Hal Blaine "wrecking" film-doc doesn't tell the real story as he said it would, it's skewered, re-edited. We were never known as the Hal Blaine-invented 1990 self-promo "wrecking crew" term - like Leon Russell, Al Kooper others say, that's pure baloney. The 50-60 of us (out of 400+ hard-working recording musicians) were sometimes called the CLIQUE and most were successful jazz musicians with fine reputations before ever doing studio work.

Gosh I'm so tardy I still haven't seen Summer of Soul yet! It's been on my list since it released though.
I love music documentaries and think Netflix/Hulu/Amazon always does a good job of having some diverse ones up for viewing:
Clive Davis- Soundtrack to our Lives- Netflix
Inventing David Geffen- Netflix
Quincy-Netflix
Miles Davis-The Birth of Cool- Netflix I've probably watched this one 5 times by now. Fascinating tale of the Jazz great.
Fyre Fraud on Hulu was interesting- Educated me more on the Fyre Festival as much of a spectacle that whole thing was.
Chasing Trane-The John Coltrane documentary Hulu

While having my coffee this morning I checked out "Have Gun Will Travel" on TV. So I'm looking at the stars and guest stars and was surprised to see that Gene Roddenberry wrote the episode. A little more investigation into Roddenberry and I found a documentary "Chaos on the Bridge", the making of Star Trek TNG. Directed and presented by William Shatner.
It's a must see if you're at all into Star Trek.

Darlene Love, (my favourite girl singer from the sixties), amongst other artists of different eras, is featured.
There's been shown an excellent documentary on UK TV on the life of Artie Shaw, including an interview with him, a couple of decades after he retired. This was over a decade ago, but it has not yet been repeated, but you never know.....

Sparks Brothers.
Documentary of the band "Sparks".
I never knew they were so prolific.
Not my favorite type of music but I admire and appreciate what they have done and their various influences on others in their lifetimes... and they're not done yet! A fun viewing.

Wasn`t there one on Tina Turner`s break away from "woman beating psycho" Ike Turner, and creating/developing her own solo music and performing style ?

I watched that last week. Loved it.
Now I'm watching "Almost Famous " about the 15 year boy that wrote an amazing story for Rolling Stone magazine who is interviewed in the Ben-Fong documentary. This is one of my favorite movies.
Interesting. I saw "Almost Famous" a very long time ago -- don't remember it and didn't really know the backstory, so I guess I have to watch that again.
"Quincy" on Netflix is pretty interesting. Tells the story of Quincy Jones. It shows him playing trumpet in a very brief clip at the beginning -- I've always wanted to see him playing trumpet, but have never been able to find any footage. The whole story is pretty interesting though.
