the studio versions of "sympathy" are awesome. very good quality and lots of brian jones.
too bad its interspersed with weird "artsy film". i ended up ffing thru those parts.
you see them figure out the tracks and how to layer them.
be prepared for a whole bunch of versions of "sympathy"

"The Making of Aja" Don and Walt in the studio with the master tape (likely a copy thereof) picking apart their masterpiece.

I really miss Walter. Really. He overcame his devils only to leave us far too soon.
 
Danny Says (2015). A nice doc about Danny Fields who managed numerous acts like The Doors, The Stooges, Nico, The Ramones. Some great footage.

Available on YouTube and others.
 
Saw one on Jimmy Hendrix and on a high tech music studio he had built in new York ..Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision
 
This technically isn't a documentary- but, it's rare to find ANY videos regarding one of the most influential music studios/labels of the 1970s and 1980s- Capricorn Records, from Macon GA. This one was actually made by someone I personally know (and build speaker drivers for):


The talent that went through that place is unmatched. Allman Brothers, Dixie Dregs, Charlie Daniels, Otis Redding, Marshall Tucker Band, Billy Thorpe, and so many more...

Here is one about a radio station. CFNY. The Spirit of Radio.


If you were lucky enough to be in Toronto Canada or Buffalo NY in the late 70s 80s or 90s. They were the place for discovering punk and new wave and all that came after. Fascinating history about a station that was passionate about music. This one is about 1 hour. Cut down from the 90 minute theatrical release which is only available behind a paywall/subscription. Lots of clips of bands and radio personalities.
 
I'm getting a 'not available in this country" message here in Michigan for the above video. Looks interesting - would like to see it.

Watched this last night, brought back a lot of memories. One of the reasons I moved from Montreal was CFNY.
There was nothing like it in Montreal.

Probably blocked because securing the International Rights to the music was too expensive.
A VPN or driving to the border and finding a Cdn WiFi might get you past the block

With that username you would definitely be a fan of CFNY.
 
Finally was able to watch some of this. I spent several weekends in Toronto in 77,78, and 79, but didn't have a radio with me as I arrived by train. Now I'm sorry I didn't as I really would have liked to hear CFNY, although reception probably would have been sketchy in downtown Toronto as I didn't have any coat hangers (grin).
