Just watched The Funk Brothers online the other night. It is really a shame that Gordy and Motown didnt give their studio musicians the liner credits and mentions that they deserved. Still to this day it is really hard to figure out which of their studio musicians played on which tracks.

I actually helped fund this documentary way back in 2011 when his daughter Michelle launched a Kickstarter campaign to get it made. My donation was minor -- $25 I think. I think the goal for the campaign was $40k. Back then it was going to be called "Searching for Terry: Discovery of a Guitar Legend", but seems like the title morphed to "The Terry Kath Experience" by the time it was released. She used to send email updates, but ironically, I never ended up seeing it once it was finally done. Terry was hugely talented both as a vocalist and guitarist and is massively under-recognized today (in my opinion). I look forward to seeing this.

I recently watched the movie "The Outsiders" and was impressed by how it accurately portrayed the struggles and dynamics of young people, particularly those from different social classes. The movie follows a group of teens as they navigate the challenges of growing up, dealing with societal pressures, and facing their own personal demons. As a college student, I found myself drawing inspiration from the characters and their stories, which led me to write an essay about the film for one of my classes. It's amazing how a film made in the 80s can still resonate with young people today, and I believe it's a testament to the power of storytelling. Overall, I would highly recommend "The Outsiders" to anyone interested in exploring the complexities of adolescence and the human experience.

Agree, but this documentary is good, it really gives a good look into what really went on during the early days of Motown.
 
I caught this a week or so back and, while never a huge Chicago Fan, I've heard their stuff from day one, and thought it was a well done documentary. What a sad tale.
I was also interested in the side profile of Caribou Ranch ...
sounds like James William Guercio was a real piece of work ...

Not exactly a documentary but I really enjoyed the Disney Plus video of Elton John's last concert in his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, held last November at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Great band - great sound - 4K HDR video. Even the wife was impressed, not an easy thing to do.

Life After Django - a must for any jazz guitar fan - Amazon
This Is Bossa Nova - very interesting story on the birth and development of Bossa Nova - unfortunately it's not readily available in most countries.
 
The filth and the fury (2000)

I have this rockumentary on VHS tape. It is a good story about the punk rock pioneers Sex Pistols.
