Musical Paradise MP-701 MK3 Tube Preamp (upgrade the caps or not!!??)

The CopperMax of Audyn did not arrive, so i changed it to the Milfex Capacitors 1,5 Uf instead , looks and sounds great already MP 701 - 2 Afbeelding 03.10.25.jpgMP 701 - 1 Afbeelding 03.10.25.jpgMP 701 - 2 Afbeelding 03.10.25.jpgMP 701 - 3 Afbeelding 03.10.25.jpg

I want to rectifie something of my previous explanation , and why i changed to 1,5 Uf . The reason is , i have a 3-way speaker system with 3 woofers , and this already offers more Mid & bass , than a UNI speaker . In the explanation i recieved, they advise to lower the Uf capacity , if you have a more classic rock of power bass speakers system . So if you have a modern classic 3 way speaker systems of 1000 to 2500 euro , with a strong mid & bass , a 1,5 Uf Capacitor will balance better sound .

As i said , it 's only an advice , people are free to experience whatever they like and want.

If you have a Single-Speaker-unit loudspeaker , than a hihger Uf gives more body and bass , and is enriching the sound.

And i forgot to say , i changed also the Fuses , to Supreme Gold Silver Fuses . This give also again of 3%-5% more , but is less clear to hear on a 3way speakers kit. But it is direct more clear on a 1speaker unit .

Would it be better to desolder all that glob, tidy it up and flow a new clean small flow of solder? I would be worried if that was mine that there might be an additional resistance inside of that what looks like some cold solder joints.

hi Ken , thanks for your comments . Helpfull , i have redid alle the joints , so they became smoother . But it is also kind of DIY project too , with speakers to build, and a second DAC ( anologe) So for now it will do . the aesthetics are less important .
