My ceiling speakers have 4 binding posts. (RIN) (LIN) How to wire them ?

Howdy AK. It's been a while. Too long :)

I recently purchased x10 of these in-ceiling speakers for install in my brother's place. ( MM 650d ) Elan in-ceiling speakers.

There is very little installation instruction online regarding these units. ( Plenty of instruction on mounting them but not wiring them )

I've tried to do some learning into RIN and LIN online but that search leads to circuit board forums with folks talking all sorts of technical jargen that doesn't seem to answer my question. Which is -

How do I wire these things ? Is this a bi-amp thing or are they intended to be ran in parallel/ series ? ( I suspect not because there are only inputs here, no outputs ? )

The speaker has 4 wires running to the woofer. ( Left woofer + , Left woofer - , Right woofer + , Right woofer - )
I've never seen anything like this. This is one woofer we're talking about.

There are 2 tweeters on this unit. Each with their respective positive and negative leads.
My gut tells me that this unit needs 2 pairs of wires connected at the same time. Yet that feels so taboo. Quite the quandary.
My next step is just wiring them up and seeing what happens. Though I am hesitant to wire all 4 posts at once.

Thinking about it now, there are Outputs and Inputs here... Positive is in, Negative is out. Right? Have I answered my own question? lol This is a setup for parallel and/or series wiring, right? That's gotta be it... >.>
 
Yep. These produce output for both channels. The manual actually has a decent amount of information on how to wire them (although admittedly some things you need to infer).

If you want to use them in a true stereo configuration, you could experiment with only hooking up wires to the L terminals, or connecting L and R in series or parallel, and see which sounds best. I assume you have some sort of audio distribution system that will handle multiple speakers without putting too much of a load on the amp (note that while these speakers are rated at 8Ω, if you connect L+R in parallel, that's a 4Ω load).

OH! I do remember the online brochure I found mentioning dual voice coils. ok so woah. I may not have enough amplification for all these speakers. Thank you so much for the info.

I had originally intended on powering 4 maybe 5 speakers through a Yamaha RX-v2400 home theatre receiver, but she wont be able to run 2 pairs of wires to each. I don't think the amplifiers on the 7.1 Rx-v2400 can handle these in parallel. At the moment I think I'm restricted to a single pair of wires to each speaker unit. So Left's and Right's it is. Thank you so much for your help swechsler.
