What in the world are you doing moving down here? Run while you can!
Seriously, overall it's a pretty nice place. Just avoid rush-hour traffic, and stay off of nicholasville as much as possible. One of the perks is that while it seems like a decently sized city, it's pretty spacious. In some spots it's only a couple miles until you are on country backroads:yes:
As for records and music, Pops resale on Leestown (I live just up the street from there, actually) is pretty solid for vintage needs, and in the campus area, CD central has a ton of great music. Unfortunately, our goodwills are normally dry, but there's some good hunting around if you are into that stuff.
Hope you enjoy the area:thmbsp:
EDIT: totally forgot, you owe it to yourself to catch a flick in the Kentucky Theater, it's downtown not far from the big blue building. it's an antique theater and the main room is stunning, every summer they do a film set, usually old stuff on 35mm, it's a great time (also, concessions are well-priced).
