My new bass rig!

Here's my new bass rig. I'm really excited to start playing now. Got a few friends at work and at home that I can play with.

Squier Vintage Modified J-bass.
Acoustic B20 amp.

I really like the slim neck on the J-bass.

So cool you found one! I think you're really gonna like that bass.. I really liked my Fender, but I don't play often, and only needed one bass.. so the one worth the money went..

My brother is a pretty accomplished guitarist, and he can play bass too. I think he can get me started off right.

Interesting.. that bass has 20 frets and I was just looking at the JAzz Deluxe like I had thinking the neck looked longer, and it also has 20 frets.... I always thought they were 24..

There are many different types of Fender Jazz and P basses. Some are passive some have preamps. Made in America, Mexico or Japan. Squire etc. It's kind of mind boggling.

Here is the link to a great bass guitar forum if you are serious about learning bass. A lot of knowledgable players there and you can learn tons of stuff by going through the posts.

Long scale 24:...short scale 20...been like that since the beginning but nowadays it's harder to find the short ones especially if you want a new one,special order sometimes:thmbsp:

You should have him check the bias current on the Eden. I've read a lot of discussion regarding some tubes running really hot and others not.

I had a chance to pick one up pretty cheap a little more than a year ago but bought a used Mesa Boogie Buster 200 instead.

I just found that TalkBass forum recently. I'll have to join to get more out of it, seems like a cool place.

I've already learned a few Dylan tunes, so I can keep myself entertained while I learn the more technical stuff.

I've found that the "General Instruction" and "Technique" areas have some good instructional advice.

Just like this site, there's some great stuff.

The main thing is to just have fun and it sounds like you already are.
