Looks to be a JVC/Victor headshell from the late 1960's. Yes, it does fit SME fittings.

Not SME fittings, according to the founder of SME - he admitted copying it off Ortofon, and is embarrassed
when people attribute it to him rather than Ortofon!

Commonly known as SME fittings. But Ortofon did invent that headshell system. SME and the Japanese made it a universal standard in audio. SME adopted the standard as it's founder had Ortofon SPU use in mind.
