I don't believe that Alex Nikitin is servicing cassette decks anymore but you might try contacting him and ask for his recommendations.

Yes I know of Alex and he had stopped servicing a long time ago.

Thank you for your recommendation!

My search continues!

Every Nakamichi specialist I know of around the world will be booked up for months, and sometimes even years. Get on their lists now. Sometimes people decide not to wait and sell the unit, give up on it, try to fix it themselves, got it fixed somewhere else, or just abandon it altogether, so your spot on the list may move along faster than you think. And get on multiple waiting lists, so whichever spot opens up first, go for it. There is no competition among us Nakamichi specialists, as there are far too many machines for too few techs to service that we are concerned with competition or "stealing" customers. I always encourage people looking for service to check out the other known techs that may be able to get them in sooner than I can take them, but usually they tell me they have already contacted the others and they told the potential customer to contact me!

Thank you very much for your reply.

The whole demographics of these experienced audio engineers has certainly changed drastically over the years due to age and retirement.

So my search painfully continues :)

Contact Peter Dolman, at Dolman AV (Here). He services all Nak decks including classics and I know at least two ZX-9 owners whose decks he’s repaired and serviced. He serviced my CR-4 three years ago; he’s brillian. There will be a long wait I’m sure.
