Need help replacing KR-5600 bridge rectifier M4B-3

I'm going to try the Vishay KBPC804PBF in this position. The datasheet specs show it will fit nicely, and maybe not need so much leg bending after all. I'm wondering if heat dissapation will be a problem? The M4B-3 is one bigass heat sink. Guess Kenwood thought things were gonna get hot down there under the other board.

I don't know the specs for the M4B-3. The Vishay is 400V / 8A. Any comments?

i probably wouldn't worry about the heat but you could always use a small cpu fan (raspberry pi?) if you are really worried (would require a 5v dc). these should be pretty quiet too. that heatshink is pretty large. just moving the air would help considerable.

Thanks for the tip ricki. pretty tight around there in the amp (see #21), I'll have to check it out more. I don't think it gets that hot, but I don't know. We see once!
 
you could use one of those thermal infrared gun thingys to measure the temp. we use them for measuring exhaust ports to look for cylinders running lean (car stuff). Still i probably wouldn't worry too much about it.
