Needle Doctor Closed..

Just went to the website, still appears to be open, no "permanently closed" that I can see.
I do believe it is stick a fork in it done though.

Yeah, Google says closed, but clicking on the link from Google pulls up the site. I went thru the order process and all went well when I stopped before entering a CC number. Who knows if it would allow the order to go thru, but of course not worth the risk.
 
It is possible that the brick and mortar store is closed for business. But the Web site will remain open for online sales only.

Renting a physical brick & mortar store is expensive. Plus hiring sales staff is more overhead.

Online sales only requires a physical storage space for inventory. Inventory can be stored in your basement. Renting storage space is still less expensive than renting a store front.

Underwood HiFi (Wally Underwood) doesn’t keep much inventory. He is just the middle man between the manufacture and customer.

The Internet has turned the retail business upside down.
 
The website itself has remained operational through all of this though from what others have reported you won’t actually get what you ordered.

Harsh but... he is choosing to let a valuable name devalue instead of letting someone else buy it and keep a business going. Yes he's free to do that, but it seems to me like more people would be happier if he sold his business to someone who would keep it going.
 
Is there anyone who wants to buy a bricks and mortar stereo store? Or more to the point, anyone who wants to buy one and actually has the money to do so. And then there is the issue of whether they have the business acumen to keep it going - if all they do is buy the employees a couple of months longer of employment, that is worth something, but perhaps not enough to get all judgmental about.
 
I’d like to think this cat had a staff of part time elders or teens packing stuff and tracking orders. It could well be the case.
I’ve been an employer since1983, two disparate businesses.
Being an employer is a responsibility. It’s why you make the big bucks.
If an existential force, other than profitability, forced me to cease operations??? I’d like to think I’d be mindful of others and their financial and emotional needs.
