New Forte III "nerfed"

The same people who won't spend $4000 today to buy a pair of gorgeous Forte IIIs will be gloating in five years when they score a pair of Forte IIIs for $1500. The specs are dialed in with great precision this time around, the performance is slightly better, coming from what I heard in person. The veneer looks like a million dollars.

I don't care either way about the money, it doesn't change the fact that these are lifetime speakers one iota, once you get them. The Fortes have always been the thoroughbred in the Klipsch stable, accepted and enjoyed by all.

Is a person really going to wait 5 years in order to get cheaper speakers or enjoy them now? Life is too damn short for that attitude.

Spot on! Money I can get. Second job, hustling for overtime etc. Waiting YEARS for that "deal" for something attainable that could have been yours within six months with a little hustle? Imagine the time and effort looking daily at want ads waiting for that deal? No thanks. If you REALLY like them go get them!

I started preparing to purchase them as soon as they were announced, and I saw the pictures of the special edition Cal. Black walnut. :naughty:

I spend maybe 10 minutes a day on craigslist looking up several different brands/items. I'd rather pay half or less than the first guy and put the rest of the money into a house payment or something else instead. I'm not expecting any Forte III to show up any time soon either, though.
 
Here's a view that won't be popular. I worked hard for 40 years. My house and cars are paid off. I want some quality audio equipment to listen to. I don't want to fish around in a dumpster looking for an old receiver that has issues.

Life is way too short for that nonsense.

I buy the new stuff I can't live without, lurk for the great vintage stuff I couldn't afford when it was new, and call it all good.
 
I though we were past the illusion of specs. The difference between 32.7Hz and 38.9Hz is the difference between C1 and D1#, but direct/passive radiators below 50Hz are audibly distorting... there is a trade off between lower response and more distortion.
 
I agree that Forte (all 3 variations) is probably the best line of Klipsch. Small footprint, perfect "tower" proportions, play great, almost as Cornwall, that is twice larger footprint.

I especially like in Forte III light grills and cool badges.

I wonder if klipsch will update the Cornwall with the modern style horns? I think a Cornwall IV would be a major hit. (essentially a Forte III mid & tweeter with a 15" woofer and large cab)
