News of the Weird Thread

Triple threat today. No, make that a quad!

1. Newt Gingrich bitten by a penguin at the St. Louis Zoo last Friday on the way to give a speech to an NRA convention. No irony there.

2. Utica, NY: Man attempts to rob not one but three central NY banks armed with a toilet plunger. Sounds like the guy decided to quit thinking about a life of crime and take the plunge.

3. Boulder CO police are looking for a man found hiding in the tank of a portable toilet at a yoga festival. Maybe he was practicing.

4. A man in California shot himself by accidntally dropping a dumbbell onto a bullet. Let me get this straight: the dumbbell hit the bullet which went off and lodged in the other dumbbell. Got it.

BEERSHEBA, Israel, May 27 (UPI) -- An Israeli man says he wants to divorce his wife because she refuses to part with her 550 cats.

The man, whose name was not reported, petitioned the Rabbinical Court in Beersheba for divorce from his cat-loving wife this past week, The Times of Israel, Jerusalem, reported Sunday.

He told the court he was unable to sleep in the couple's bedroom because his wife's hundreds of cats were constantly sleeping on the bed.

The man said the cats also blocked his access to the bathroom and did not allow him to cook in the kitchen, the Hebrew daily Maariv reported Wednesday. When he sat down at the table to eat, the cats would jump up and steal his food,
he said in his divorce request.

The couple tried to reconcile as ordered by the rabbinical court; however, the wife was unable to part with her pets and instead decided to part with her husband.

In regards to story #3 (should have been numbers 1 or 2 if they were using an outhouse)- I read a story a few years ago about women using an outhouse at a campground and they saw flashes of light from the bowels of the storage container. Police investigated and arrested a man in a scuba suit taking pictures of the throne above him where women were using the facilities. He admitted to police he sometimes spent several hours in there waiting for the right subject to be seated.

BELLINGHAM, Wash. 8/28/13 — A man is accused of trying to get marijuana into a Washington state jail by attaching it to an arrow he shot onto the roof.

A Whatcom County sheriff’s employee saw the man step out of his pickup truck and use a bow to launch the arrow toward the jail’s second-floor recreation area, but it missed its target.

Sheriff Bill Elfo says the man, identified as 36-year-old David Wayne Jordan, was arrested for investigation of introducing contraband into the jail, resisting arrest and obstructing law enforcement.

The Bellingham Herald reports (http://is.gd/BKajJv ) Jordan served 20 days in the jail earlier this month for assault and resisting arrest.

The sheriff says Jordan told deputies he had been aiming at a squirrel, but he couldn’t explain why he needed to attach marijuana to the arrow to go squirrel hunting.

Zombie thread!

A Dutch man was arrested when he was found driving along the road with two enormous (and likely stolen) concrete lamp posts on top of his sedan.

Police said that in addition to improper transport of the cargo, and suspected theft, he was also without insurance or registration, and appeared to be intoxicated. Ya think??!? I mean, you'd almost have to be...:rflmao:
