Time for a new cleaning brush for my Nitty Gritty, but what's better? The original velvet brush or the new KAB nylon fiber brush - or simply using one of the paint trim pads to replace the old Nitty Gritty brush?

For about 2 years now ... I've been using the Last Brushes. They come in a package of 10 ... I'm still on the 1st one for day to day. Another one is kept for rinse. Should note that the brushes are made to spread Last Record care product ... I just use them as vehicle for spreading standard record cleaning fluid prior to vacuuming.
For premium cleaning and scrubbing ... I use the Mobile Fidelity brushes along with another last brush for rinse ... not very often (day to day) though.

They are good if you have a pretty clean collection, but I'm looking at scrubbing a LOT of dirty. moldy records, so I need something durable and reusable. I have heard they are very good though!

True that ... I pre-clean wipe with a damp 3M Auto Detail cloth prior to spreading fluid w/ the Last brush. Only necessary on vinyl w/ surface dirt & dust. Occasionally hand washing the 3M cloth when appropriate.
If you are talking about really dirty, moldy & grimy vinyl ... I d don't buy those type of records. I cherry pick my inventory.

Time has told me...
I have switched to the paint pad for all of my cleaning with the Nitty Gritty. It covers the entire surface of the record, is soft, and has plenty of bristles. I've used it exclusively for about a year now.
