No headphone forum?

It just occurred to me today, possibly because I just started listening to music through my headphones for the first time since getting decent speakers, that there is no dedicated headphone forum on AudioKarma. I realize that not many questions or discussions come up about headphones on here, and there is the well established community over at Head-Fi. I just kinda figure that if food and spirits gets a forum, why not headphones? Personally I think they're great, right now I'm listening to a 218 Kbps mp3 of a group called Lunar, from my Mac, to a Pioneer SX-650 to my Sennheiser HD 497's. These are headphones I bought for less than $100 and they sound incredible, and they're nice and comfortable to boot. I only wish I could stop my head from sweating so much, and I'd wear them all the time.

It would also be a great place to discuss some of the better vintage headphones also. So two birds with one stone. Sometimes its tough to find info on obscure vintage headphones. That's my latest addiction.

Personally I've never gotten into vintage headphones, probably because mostly I see headphones get tossed around and abused a lot. I do it, even though I try to take care of them. I'd just be suspicious of their condition.

Unfortunately a lot of vintage phones have been treated pretty badly. Not to mention there are more than a few crappy vintage phones out there too. I found a few models that sound pretty darn good. They don't sound near to any of the modern phones due to changes in technology but their are some key models to look out for. Lafayette F990 is one. Pioneer Monitor 10. Beyerdynamic Dt48's. I love a lot of modern headphones too. Bruce Campbell is the man.

It is the focus of Head-Fi, but I just figured, since AudioKarma is so all-encompassing with regards to home audio, a headphone section would be welcomed by a lot of users.

at first im like... duh.. there's head-fi but then it occurred to me why we are all here and not on some of the other sites, karma.

so yeah, i guess a headphone forum might be a good idea since audiokarma tends to frown upon the hostilities that occur on other forums over cables and other stuff.

As I sit here at work listening to my '76 vintage Mario Bellini designed Yamaha Orthodynamic HP-1 Headphones (purchased new BTW) it occurs to me that I might have more than a passing interest in a headphone thread in AK.

edit: maybe we can wrap our heads around the concept

I think it would be a nice addition. I would love to discuss headphones in a AK atmosphere.
Regards,
Jim
