Often discounted in the pro audio department at Guitar Certer, you may be able to get them to throw in the mic and cable no charge.

Three comments:

1. I have a set of A25's in my bedroom system with a Marantz 2220b playing right now. The speakers are very efficient, and produce good sound and volume from my modestly powered receiver;

2. Do the test results differ depending on how the speakers are wired? By that I mean does change in impedance change results; and

3. I thought it was the original large Avdent speakers that everyone loved to stack???? I've been hunting for a second pair to stack in my house.

I don't own A-25s, and very likely have never heard any. Jack affirms here that they are very pleasant listening in single pairs, and lots of users have similarly enjoyed them for many years, decades, in fact. :thmbsp:

I believe I determined, at least to my own satisfaction, and at least insofar as identical speakers connected to SS amplification are concerned, that it doesn't matter:

The measured anomalies are consequences of phase interference arising from multiple sources playing the same program material, and vary with the configuration and orientation of the speakers, and the location of the "listener." Jack used the same connection scheme for the several configurations he tried, presumably, so the variations he documents are independent of impedance.

Indeed, both Advents and Dynacos are commonly stacked, along with just about every other breed being used simultaneously in multiples of one variety or another, all of them subject to sonic effects similar to those disclosed in these studies.

I originally had three pairs of A-25's, but gave a pair to my friend who owns a brew pub. Now, I can sit in John's place drinking a Gold Metal Brew, and enjoying great music on great speakers. They are in the bar area

I feel that one pair is all that is needed, but some people are not convinced and love the sounds of several pairs all playing at once. If that is what you like, go for it.

When I tried mine stacked for this thread, they were always hooked in parallel, making the load equal to 4 Ohms. I have since tried them hooked in series, and as long as the correct polarities are observed, I can't tell any difference, nor can the RTA.

If you can come up with another pair, by all means do it. I am looking for another pair, but not really seriously, since I am already overloaded with speakers. But at a good price, another pair of Dynacos would be very welcome in my stable.

I have just opened up my Dynaco A25 And Dynaco A10 stack with a Kenwood KA 5700.

I think I just discovered a music sweetspot .
