Norman Lab 432 Terminal Cups

Anyone have experience removing the terminal cup and crossover from Norman Lab 432s? I want to recap the crossover, but the cup won't budge after taking out the screws.

Changing out the capacitors is the last thing I need to do too on my 432 Norman labs. I just got done refoaming them and used Howards on the veneer. A very nice speaker they are indeed :D.

Terminal cups often have a gasket installed. Since those Normans are acoustic suspension speakers, the cup is likely sealed to the enclosure.

I suggest using a knife to work the cup away from the back. You want to break the seal between the flange and the back. Be sure to work your way around the whole circumference. If you try to lift too much in one place you run the risk of cracking the terminal cup flange.

From the inside, do you see some glue oozing out around the cup? If so might make it real hard to pull the cup for the recap. A putty knife might be able to slide between the cup and cabinet on the back. If you get that far, then maybe running something around cup inside the speaker would break any glue holding the cup. that sounds like so much work, I might evaluate the possibility of recapping inside the speaker.
