wait a minute....

if this is really not your doing caused by boredom, it's gotta be the CL's list of the year! i mean.....dumba** list of the year. :D

Those are the uber-rare invisible glass model...I have read of these, but never actually seen them!!!

LOL yea, they were manufactured specifically for the hi-fi stereo in the International Space Station! :D

I wonder if the oxygen in the air would ruin the cathodes and the tubes wouldn't work even up in the vacuum of space. Or maybe you'd have to "cook" the cathodes at twice normal heater voltage to reactivate the cathodes once you're up in space. Though the vacuum up at the ISS is probably better than what you can usually pump and then getter on the ground.

No guys, it ain't me LOL. I cannot believe that someone is being serious here....If they are, then wow, wow. !

This tops my list of asinine CL postings.:tresbon:

Now excuse me while I rip apart some Telefunkens and clean the getter material off the insides.

Great tubes for "the sound of silent". I am surprised he only charges $50 each for all the cleaning he did. I told my speaker buyers that I would charge more if they want me to push in the dust caps and poke some holes in woofer cones for them.

No, you see you transport the tubes TO the ISS with the envelopes in place (to mitigate the aforementioned O2 dissolution)

Then when it's time to rock the house, you connect the iPod, don the ACES suits, equalize the cabin to deep space vacuum levels, BREAK THE GLASS and CRANK THE TUNES.
Imagine the entire cabin getting enveloped in that gorgeous blue glow...
