Not for you weenies.

Nice table and the link works for me. Do you need a dust cover or another base? I might know a shop which has some NOS ELAC/MIRACORD stuff.

The wood and plexi dustcover is sitting to the side, but NOS ELAC stuff?!?!?!

:scratch2:

Nice looking Elac Miracord - those things are tanks.

Yep, I'm a weeny and that made me wince.

It's been awhile since I've seen stacked vinyl in operation. We used to stack 45s on the parent's SS magnavox console but luckily I had my own turntable by the time I started buying LPs and they were spared the stacking and mistracking on the console.

The only parts of the LPs that come into contact with each other are the labels, and the very edge of the outer lip (that's how the LP discs were designed... to be played on changers).

I have 2-3 old lp sets that were made for changers...gotta see how they stack on each other.

Cool didn't know that or had forgotten if I'd heard that before.

I have an older Dual I'll have to try out with some multiple volume LPs sets, i.e. first record is Side 1 & 3 and record #2 is side 2 & 4.

Still I'm glad my LPs were spared the old Maggotbox's tone arm.

Hot Dog!

That link worked- thanks for sharing.

But was that Elac playing a Carrol Channing record? And backwards, to boot?

It looks scary, but it clears the bottom by about 1/8". We're talking German precision here.

I like how the tonearm first scrapes a trough along the underside of the top LP, then the spindle allows it to shatter onto the LP below. :D

No, thanks for that clip. I have a changer and have always been too scared to try it. Now I don't have to.

I haven't seen that in a couple decades or so, a changer in action. Once an everyday sight, now just a fond memory for me...thanks for the lock 'n load.

i may very well be wrong and, if so, i apologize in advance as this is only meant with tongue in cheek. but i thought there was a thread a bit back about this being 'the wife's' turntable'; now it's 'my miracord'. just sorting stuff out in my head.

What's mine is hers, and what's hers is mine.

I've got bad news for you. Every time you play an LP, you are dragging a hard sharp thing along some soft stuff that scrapes off. :thumbsdn:

Ah, yes. That is serious hardware. Brings to mind cocktail parties my parents used to have. They in their drunken glory chatting in a smoke filled room while we kids snuck downstairs to nibble the mini pickles and potato chips left in the kitchen.

Thanks
