Nudies of your modern gear!!

Please don't take this the wrong way because that is really nice Pete... But that is the worst soldering I have EVER seen in my entire life. If you ever have any issues, I would certainly look for a bad joint first. Or if you have the skills, touch up the ones that are really bad just to be safe...

Don't worry, I thought exactly the same thing myself when I first popped the cover off. These are double-sided circuit boards and the rear side soldering is 100% perfect, so I figured it wouldn't be too much of a drama.

You've got me worried now... I think I might drag the DAC onto the workbench (AKA dining table) tonight and fire up the soldering station and touch a few of those joints up, just in case. The performance and sonics of this unit are brilliant, so there definitely no issues with the solder joints... yet.

Some great photos here, thanks for posting, but my hands down favorite it the kitty's CD player:

Classé DR-10. Half of the output transistors shown. The other half are mounted upside-down under the PC board.

Jeff Rowland Model 1

Here's my contribution and it's my favorite interior view I've seen on this thread. It's built like a tank, mirrored, and sexy as hell. My Jeff Rowland Model 1:

I don't think I've added my stuff to this thread. If so, apologies. These aren't my pictures but I'm not at home for the near future to take pictures...

My Mark Levinson no. 432 amplifier. 125lb beast that it is.

The preamp is heavy to. Though lately I've been using a near opposite for both from a weight standpoint, the McCormick TLC-1 deluxe passive pre and Sony Ta-n86 amp.
