The bronze I've had were painted. That's not to say they all were though. It was evident from the back side. Since 1. The black ones were painted 2. Most anodized products specify anodized and brochure dosnt state it, (not conclusive on its own) but given the 3 combined factors not mentioned in brochure, my thoughts on painted from previouse grills, the fact the others were all painted, would sway towards paint. They would not have developed an entirely new procedure for one grill color.
If I went black, I would not use gloss, I use Satin. Spraying at angles only no direct head on pattern used.
If it were ever anodized anyway, since that's not happening paint is it. Not difficult to match as I recall either.
