I have these 22 year old solen caps and new dayton polypropylene caps to use in a crossover. Which would you use ? I would think the Solens are still good ? Any opinoins?

Thanks ...my searches on the net and my overall understanding of this capacitor thing suggest the same , just needed a few opinions.....paul

If you have them both, why not try each and see if you can hear a difference?

I'd also try a 0.047uF or so poly bypass on those, best quality I could manage. Again, see if you can hear a difference.

hmmmm..I will probably try both and see if there is a distinct difference. The bypass is a good suggestions. I have some .1uf wondercaps ..would those be ok for use as bypass?

I have used both...I do like the Solen as I have recapped 8 crossovers with
these will nice sound...They DO need 50 - 100hrs of playtime to open up.
