Old VS. New

cubdog has offered me to stop by his place on my way to school (in Aurora) to look at some vintage gear. Hopefully I'll find what I'm looking for!

Let us know what you think of the sound of his system.
I think he has some high quality gear.

There are many good examples of good new and vintage.

There are loads of quality amps/electronics that can be had much cheaper than you suggest. I think your hatred of new has intentionally kept you from looking at a lot of fine equipment.

Nothing wrong with new.

I prefer Sansui.

Bryston is a fine and nice sounding amp.

I was going to suggest finding a local AK'er to hook you up.....cubdog steps up to the plate! cubdog loves spreading the "karma" just on the boards alone and will take care of you for sure.

Mr CubDog is a good man . He will treat you right and give good solid advice .

I also think Mr.Cubdog is a good man.

He never gets upset over the posts of anyone.

I look forward to reading the opinion of RUNN1NG EMOT after he listens to his system. :thmbsp:

I would hit Cubdog for all he recommends.

I would also consider this system culled for Chicago CL, posted in the last three days, if you don't spring at CDs.

A pair of these Advent speakers would be nice. http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/ele/3981314820.html $150.

A decent Phillips TT for $75. http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/ele/3990957097.html

And a Sony STR 6055 receiver for about $125. http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/ele/3980640197.html

It won't pound the hall, but it will make some sweet music for the room and get notice by the girls.:thmbsp:
