I'm not familar with the C7030. However, I can tell you that the C390 has a real decent DAC especially for a consumer level changer. OF course the CD player is not the only thing in the chain that makes up sound quality. You could hook up the best CDP to a decent receiver running poor quality speakers and you will get poor quality sound. Same can be said if the speakers are great, but the receiver is junk. Any system is only as good as the weakest link. (Sometimes the weakest link is the source or media, so don't base everything on one thing).

When trying to choose between components, I would first google to see if there are any specs, owner manuals, or reviews. Then determine if it has features that you will find useful. Sites like amazon will usually have user reviews as well.
The advantage of a changer is multiple play, disadvantage is it can sound clunky during CD changing. If that is not important then a single player is usually considered to have the least compromises in sound or build. But of course you need to consider the original price points and position in the line ups.
I have Onkyo changers DX-C909 (original new) and DX-C606 (goodwill hard to pass up) and a single disc DX-706 (ebay). They are hard to distinguish. I use the changers more, just because of convenience.
If the changer means nothing, I would get the C-7030. I think at amazon users mention it can play MP3s if that makes any difference.

I'd get the single play unit from a dependability point of view. The changer isn't junk and actually a decent one but most changers are convenience items more than sound quality. But with your amp and speakers, you'd be better served looking upmarket. Something like a Rega player for example. Because you have revealing gear as a rule.
