i own an original empire 598 troubador turntable in excellent condition. can anyone provide me with some info on it's value and demand in the marketplace? thx!

i've seen them priced from $40 (what i paid for mine at the flea market) to $2500 on ebay (which hasn't sold in a long time) and $2250 on craigslist (which hasn't sold in a long time. i'd peg it somewhere between the two/three.

That says it's a 698, not a 598.

Looks like sellers are asking large prices on ebay, and yet one that has been relisted more than once isn't selling at $650. Didn't read the description, maybe it's junk, maybe poor feedback...don't know except it hasn't sold.
As with many pieces, condition is important.

Yes and it's an original 598, not a II or III.

Maybe word is getting out about the work needed to get these back to working properly.
