Panasonic se-840 repair help

I have this original Panasonic TT, but after a few minutes of play, the left speaker gets all distorted and crackles. I got a new needle but still doesn't help.

It hasn't got anything to do with the needle but good that you got a new one. And it's not really a turntable per se but a compact record player, with separate speakers. My guess is, seeing as this is a 45-50 record player, the electroytic capacitors are crapping the bed and the pots all need a good bath. Among other things. So you can do that yourself if you're handy with a soldering iron and have contact cleaner And you're kind of aware of what all that is. Or you could pay someone to do that but I'd avoid a electronic repair place as their bench charge is typically more than this thing is worth. It's cool but it's really low end stuff. If it's of sentimental value, sure. But you could get a legit turntable and receiver and speakers off CL and spend less.
