If I wanted to replace the woofers of a pair of Philips AH-476, what would y'all suggest?:scratch2:

Do you have the original woofers? If so, there may be useful part information printed o n them. I am not 100% sure that the woofers were Philips drivers (e.g., they may be from CTS or another, similar OEM, rather than Philips).
Why do you need to replace them, if I might ask? If only the foam suspension (surround) is deteriorated on a driver, the suspension itself can be readily replaced (in case you didn't know that already).

I'm supposed to get a notification on replies to threads, but I didn't. I hope you get this. I've replaced the surrounds on both original Heppner speakers, and bought another off of Ebay and replaced its surround. One of my originals has a loud pop during heavy bass on DVD & TV which I think might be the voice coil hitting. The other original is fine. The one I got on Ebay rattles during heavy bass. I got a sub to take as much of the lower frequency off the Philips as I could, but I still have the rattle and the pop. The spiders look fine - no tears, but they may be weak. That's why I thought about just getting new drivers.
Someone on Ebay has a pair of Heppners out of some AH476s. He wants a reasonable price, but the surrounds are gone. So, he probably doesn't really know how well they reproduce sound. I may use the money I'd spend on them to have a speaker tech look at mine and see if they can be fixed.
