Picked up a Luxman PD-272 table - anyone using these?

Just brought home a PD272 for a price I couldn’t refuse (free). It’s still in the car so I haven’t even had a chance to wipe it down or plug it in yet.
Assuming it may need some work but wondering how well liked they are if in decent, working shape… I really don’t need it so will probably just clean it up and pass it on - too many tables here already..

I had one for a while. It's a very nice looking table with a decent arm. The end of record auto-lift can be tricky to get working right and it's very light and not well insulated so feedback can be an issue.

If you like your records loud, this is not the table for you...

I googled it, looks to be a nice enough direct drive unit. You can't beat the price paid. What cartridge came with it?

Mike, it has some type of AT MM cart on it - with a broken off cantilever. The body is black but I probably need to remove it to see what it is.
 
Pretty much my “daily-driver” in the living room system. I’m running an AT-MA440 cart. Overall, I like it a lot and it’s easy on the eyes. Got it at a school sale for $10.

The little anti-skate rod was broken off mine, but I was able to rig up a replacement. The speed pots will probably need cleaning. If the speed doesn’t hold, cycle the pots a few time.

Auto-lift? I don’t think my PD-272 has that.

Well, back home and set it on the kitchen table for a better look. Plugged it in and speeds look accurate and easily adjustable!
Need to give it a good cleaning up but this seems like a fairly nice table. Cartridge is missing the cantilever but it’s an AT Technicraft 2000.

I had a pd-277 for quite a few years. From what I recall, it was easy to work on, and the arm sounded great with the Grace F-9 I had on it. Love Luxman. Their 70's and pre-Alpine 80's stuff is very nice. Their post-Alpine stuff is quite high-end too. Nice score! My ONLY gripe with that TT is the fixed headshell. That's it though.

There is no auto lift on a 272. It's fully manual. The 277 can be used as a manual, or semi auto.

I still have a 272......I am not a big fan of fixed heads as mentioned above, and I am not really a manual fan either. Paid $15 for mine so the OP has me beat.
