I used to smoke a pipe, and always enjoyed it! Not sure when or where I gave it up.

The room is around 16 x 25 I think? It is a great room for listening, however when it rains heavily for a sustained period, water leakage can be an issue, so that is a draw back. I'll have to get that corrected.

So, I'm curious about this thing I keep seeing about the 'man cave?' When did this sort of thing start and why? What makes a room a man cave as opposed to another room in the house? Why is necessary to have a man cave? What is the difference between a parlor/drawing room/living room and a man cave? Is there such a thing as a woman cave? What does gender have to do with the room, and can't a room be styled to adapt to both genders (not that there needs to be a distinction)? Especially if it is an area designated for listening to music. And why 'cave?' -- as this suggests some sort of primitive level of existence.

MaxSeven- your's would have to be the FUNKIEST Audio Abode on the 'net. Really. With the modern portraits contrasted with the medieval couch, raw plumbing balanced with fine cabinetry and more tasty gear than any sane man should ever have... you've surpassed 'Man Cave' and taken the notion to a higher level. 'Anthropoid Antre' may suffice! I think the semantic difference in terminology between gender-specific, commonly labelled rooms and something like you have created rests with how the space makes you feel when you're there. If the sound moves you at a primordial level, 'cave' may be used in the appropriate context.

OMG, Duffer, you did a great job on that room. Amazing.

The retro recliner is cool and putting the piano in there is a nice touch. No TV to distract the music playing - sweet.

Of course, the lava lamp is the highlight. :D

You are living the high life in that room, my friend.

My cave is not very nice for now but my boss told me I could use this one as an audio evaluating room...

I had the pleasure of listening to Duff's set up in the new music room and it was quite nice. The speakers steal the show because of their sheer size, build quality and big sound. As he stated they can easily out pace the room. I thought they would go better in my bigger music room, but he was not having it. :no: The Jimmy Page photes he took over the speakers are a nice touch too:thmbsp:

Thanks guys. Originally I was disappointed to have such a small room compared to my last house but it has worked out well that I can just close the doors and crank up the tunes. :music:

The photo of Jimmy was taken by my brother while we were in the sixth row of opening night at the L.A. Forum in June 1977. :guitar::rockon::guitar:
