A lot of progress on the remodeling project since post #55. I can begin to taste the new much larger and flipped environment for the HT. There will no longer be a rack - instead there will be a floating shelf with but HT processor and cable/DVR box under the 65" screen. The power amp and Blu Ray player will be relocated to what will be a hidden closet to the right. There are chases that will eliminate all visible cables on the front wall. The left upper and lower boxes are connected for running HDMI from processor to TV. It continues below the floor into the closet for signal to power amp and HDMI from player. There will be boxes behind the Acoustat mains for both power and speaker connection. Wall mounted Magnepan MC1 surrounds have also been wired under the floor. Still about 8 weeks to completion...

Working from home for a while now. This has turned my cave into the place I spend a lot more time. Still pretty happy with the NHT speakers setup, though. Definitely helps get me through the day. I usually have at least two screens on all the time and sometimes 3 depending on what I am doing. Still feels more messy than normal.

Did you run Cat IV for hard wired Network?

I am following your project with a lot of interest.

I am using one of the bedrooms as a home office and it was fine until the pandemic hit when it suddenly it turned into a work office...

I have a fireplace in the basement and intend to enclose an area almost as big as yours, and turn it into an office.

Best

I’m convinced CV19 will end up causing many businesses to reconsider the question of using home based offices where it makes sense. Ironically, I’ve been doing that for nearly twenty years so it really hasn’t involved transitioning for me. Other than needing to worry about proper lighting when I’m on a Zoom call. ;)

Good luck on your project. Adding to the living space will add to the resale value of your home and likely make it more desirable when the time comes to sell.

Work in progress... new home as of June 5th, my Home Office / Music Room / Man Cave. Picture taken about 15 minutes ago. I have to set up my second desk for in the window (I have 2 matching desks, 1 for my work laptop and 1 for my recording / playback computer). I need to build some stands for the speakers, hang some art, and buy some acoustic foam to reduce the echo. House is 3333sq/ft Contemporary with 1500sq/ft unfinished basement on 2.2 acre built in 1988... and my room is 13' x 14' with a 20' ceiling on the wall pictured and 10' on the wall that isn't seen.
