Thanks, like many others here I have a serious addiction in an area with plentiful supply. That's only about 15% of the collection, as I have records shelved in four other rooms + the basement in the house.

The JBL 4430s are the least placement-fussy and room-fussy speakers that I've heard - it probably has something to do with those constant directivity horns. I know that the room opens up with every piece of furniture that I have removed from the room - so the couch and coffee table are gone. I think I'd benefit from some coverings over the windows, and moving out the shelves - I might have to experiment one of these days, but right now I'm too busy enjoying the music.

Yep, those are the 4425's big brother, JBL 4430s powered by the McIntosh MC-2205 amp (200 WPC), paired with a Cary-AE AE-3 MkII tube Preamp/Project TubeBox SE II phono preamp/Rega P3 turntable w/ a Benz Ace phono cartridge /Sansui TU-717 tuner / DacMagic DAC / Carver CDP.

Nice assortment of gear. We think alike in some respects.

I have the AE Super Amp MkII and I'm considering adding the AE3 MkII pre sometime to set up a music system in an other room. How do you like it? The Super Amp 2 is amazing, even driving 88 db, 4 ohm speakers. I will then exchange the Super Amp 2 with a Mac power amp to match my Mac pre and tuner for the 2 channel home theater system.

Enough about my stuff, yours is just great!

Thanks. I like that Preamp a lot - I've had it for a year and it is a solid performer. I evaluated the AE-3 MkII preamp last December in my main system as a loaner. The existing preamp was a Nakamichi CA-5 (solid state). There was a very noticeable improvement in the dynamics and depth. After a day of listening, there was no way that loaner unit was going back.
