A few notes, the ARC SP6 preamp is not an ARC SP6 preamp, it is just the chassis. It houses three preamps that I can select from: A John Broskie (TubeCad) buffer, a Pass Labs JFET buffer and my own buffer, and a JFET phono preamp, all with custom power supply. I built all of them in this chassis.
The ST-70 is again, not an ST-70. It has a Heyboer power transformer with more power, Magnequest output transformers, and a Tubes4HiFi ST70 circuit board,, also upgraded choke and power supply. I had a local shop power coat the chassis. I have built and sold many of these ST70 units and they do sound good. I have one more that has the ARC ST-70-C3 upgrade, and will use that too when it is finished.
The turntable is a KAB modified SL-1200mkII, from the last year Technics made them before selling to Panasonic. Cart is a Denon DL-110 with upgraded cantilever from soundsmith, and I sometimes swap it out for an AT-100 (IIRC) I have handy for older (kind of worn) records.
The tuner is a Nikko Gamma 30, sounds better than its price or size indicates.
The B&W Matrix 801 Series 2 I just picked up from the original owner who had them, the stands, carpet spikes and the bass alignment filter. When I have a moment, I have all of the parts for the Van Alstine crossover mod plus all new filter caps for the film and electrolytics. I will at that time also change my speaker cable from the SOJ on it now to my Canare 4S11. All preamp cables are my own build. Yes, the 801s are far too large for the space and room, but I will eventually move them elsewhere. They have always been my grail speaker, so I got them even though they are too large to image well in this particular space.
