out of curiosity (and having restored a CT-F1000 recently)
What do you need it for?
You will also need to be aware of the reel sensor (the black thing with the wires that come out of it) and make sure it works right.
How do you tell if it works right ?
Replace the belts and pulleys first, they are usually the main culprit. Then think about replacing the tape presence switch if that doesn't fix the problem. More than likely it's the belt(s) to the tape counter. It's lots of fun replacing the belts and pulleys.![]()

it is fairly easy, as long as you take care of the circlips (or the "jesus-clips", because you go "Oh Jesus" when one gets airborn) and you follow the instructions - it took me about an hour to do it...

I covered the C-clip with the palm of my hand, so it didn't fly to far - so yes, but otherwise take 2 hours of searching on the floor into the calculations![]()
