Pioneer PL 518 vs Dual 510

Hello All!

Pioneer PL 518 vs Dual 510.

Both turntables have the same cart: Shure V15 type iii.

Both in excellent condition without any issues.

In my apartment, there is only room for one.
Which do you choose, and why?

That´s an easy one: both.

Got wooden floors? You might want the Pioneer.
Otherwise, I'd take the Dual. Friend of mine had a 510 and I tried for years to buy it from him (he never used it). He had problems with the sled contacts, brought it to me to fix. I got a chance to try it in the system I was using then. Sounded really sweet. Better than my Technics.

I like both.
If the condition is similar and price also.
Pioneer due to the direct drive.

I've had the Dual for about 5 years with zero issues (even though I have the suspect motor).

I just picked up the Pioneer from a neighbor for a whopping $60

I'm leaning toward keeping the Pioneer for ease of cartridge change and the stability of direct drive.

I'm definitely not keeping both since we're just in an apartment, so I'm going to run the Pioneer for a while and try to decide...
