Pioneer RT-707 service & rebuild

Hi @DongZhi-CN

Thank you for your kind comments. @GPS16 is a technical genius. I had the pleasure of confirming this in person over a beer when I visited the UK!

I have learned a lot since I wrote this thread, and would reword/rewrite some things differently now, but I suppose the 'beginners' experience is valuable too.

About the pictures, they seem to be okay to me. I used IMGUR as my image host; IMGUR is blocked in your region unfortunately. I read online there is an chrome and firefox plugin than might fix the issue; or perhaps a VPN would work too. However, I have long been worried about the long term access to the photos which could disappear at anytime. (a) I have copied of everything and (b) I plan to upload my threads to my own website soon.

The Pioneer RT-707 (& 701) 7" tape deck.

Built like a tank!

At one time I owned a total of (4) four them....now down to just (2) two.

For the benefit of all those who adore the Pioneer RT-707 (series) 7" tape deck (as I do) I sure hope that this entire thread "never gets deleted" !

There is a wealth of very good information contributed and posted in this thread that is a very good source to reference to.

I'd like to thank all those who have contributed, provided pictures, etc. that have supported this particular thread.

I just want to chime in on this long running thread to say I have successfully restored my 707 following @smurfer77, @GPS16 and Travis post's. It is a good player and it looks so good playing!! Thanks guys if you still around!!
