its a euro model im in uk is there any chance you can make this into a docket where i can email it to mouser instead of typing this all out

Heatsinks

Hi Elektronror,

Sorry to hijack thread a second but it maybe useful for the OP, where did you get the heatsinks from when you added the 2nd pair of transistors

Got a part number?

Cheers

Steve

Take a picture of your power supply. The HG models has double Q11 and Q12.

You have to do some of the work. :thmbsp:

Thanks Mark I Have Placed Order With Mouser Its Just Gonna Be Finding Where Everything Goes On The Board

You're SUPPOSED to check the list against the board visually (eyeballs) before "pulling the trigger" to avoid "wrong part itis" and subsequent "wallet deflateus"....

Which implies knowing how to navigate the board using the "maps" found in the service manual...

the good thing is here i have another sa 9800 which i can copy off of the problem with this was there was a bad hum coming from it

and also the replacements from mouser the part numbers will not be the same as the originals so say for instance what will KSA1013YBU replace on the original board and so forth thanks again mark for the help and insight

The directions are implicit in the data.
awr-194 board name
q3 (q4, q10) locations of specific transistors
2sa733 (2sa904, 2sa733) original transistor type and specifications (to help when looking up replacement)

512-KSA1013YBU replacement

this is not all my data or is an old format if it is exactly from me, because the ksa1013 lead (ecb) arrangement is not specified

you need to download the data sheets (mouser has links on each product's page) because the replacements are NOT the same as the originals
thus there are 5 wrong ways to install it and only one right way. I have posted extensively upon the subject.
search for "replacement transistor installation" in my posts,

thanks again mark for the brilliant help i also wanted to ask on one of the 9800 i have one side of the display is slightly dim would you say this is a display problem or maybe the board driving the display i have a feeling it maybe a suspect display on its way out because if it was a board problem wouldnt the whole display be dim? when i try the dim button left side of display goes bright and dim and right side of it goes dimmer n slightly brighter when pressed

One side of display slightly dimmer

Hi,

I have the same issue where the left channel display is very slightly dimmer than the right. Originally the display was just extremely dim but I have replaced all the components bar the relay on the protect board and all the caps on the indicator board and now, although the display is a lot brighter, the dim / bright button doesn't alter anything as far as the display goes. Mark asked me to check some voltages which are in my thread and am just waiting for him to come back to me when he has the time.

I will follow your thread and if I find out anything I will let you know.

Kind Regards

Steve

ok i have started the rebuild on the power supply board now its a case of locating where transistors what i go from mouser go i knew i should of pulled them out one at a time. its funny because i have two sa 9800 and both power boards look different one has four fuses the other has two so maybe some parts maybe different
