I’m still a beginner at electronics repair and this estate-find Pioneer SX-1500T is the oldest unit I’ve worked on. I’ve ordered a recap kit and an LED bulb kit, and with the faceplate off for the bulb install, I want to restore the missing lettering around the Power/Speakers knob and bottom toggles.
The faceplate is still intact, so I can use it as a reference. I’m willing to try creating my own decal but would appreciate recommendations for a clear, beginner-friendly guide. Any advice on tools, materials, or step-by-step tutorials would be helpful.
Does anyone know of a vendor selling reproduction decal sheets or transfer kits for the SX-1500T? Alternatively, is there a public archive for vintage audio faceplate templates? Any shared experiences or links to tutorials for restoring faceplate lettering would be greatly appreciated.
