Pioneer SX-980 Voltage Question.

Will a Pioneer SX-980 work in the UK. Is there a voltage selector?

Some have the voltage selector on the back, some don't. It's a black, round switch on the rear panel. This is an example of a SX-1050 with voltage selector on the rear:

I'd think it would depend on the exact model? Anyhow you could convert up to 220v. I don't think the 50hz would hurt it at all. Perhaps you'll hear from someone that's actually done the conversion in your direction.

Oh they made them, they differed from the ones intended for the USA market. here's a SX-980 with voltage selector on the rear

I just checked my SX-980 service manual. The USA 120 volt version is type KU, the Canada 120 volt is KC, the 220 and 240 volt European is HG, type S is switchable 110 120 220 240, type S/G was US military switchable voltage 110 120 220 240 volt

As mentioned by Approse above, you could use a stepup voltage converter, but if it was me living in the UK, ...with all of those hot, English gals, with those irresistible accents.... whoa.......I'm getting off track here...anyway......I would get a switchable one or the 220/240 volt type HG, better for resale over there.
