You have a SX-950 and a SX-1010? In that case I would say yes. It is always fun to try out something different.

Thats what I thought since I have the SX 950 which is almost the same. Right now he wants the SX 980 and $50 but I want an even trade.

Well, an SX-980 is next to the top of the line. 1080 was the top.
The G-7700 is two down from the top. G-8700 and G-9700 above it.

He's asking you to add money to your 980 to get his 7700. Right?

I'm not sure I'd even do an even trade. If the conditions of the two receivers makes it work, but like I said, I think it's rude of him to ask for money with your receiver.

I don't know about the asking for money, but the 980 is 4th down from the top.... SX-1980, SX-1280, SX-1080, SX-980.

Actually, they are not real far apart as for models. The SX980 is 4 down from the top, the G7700 is 3 down with the G9700, then G8700 and the G7700

I own both models. Make the trade you won't be sorry. (However, make sure the 7700 tuner display functions properly before you seal the deal). Otherwise the tuner won't lock in stereo properly. There is a hard to find IC in the 7700 tuner that often fails.
