Pioneer VSX 4400 Display went dark

So as I was sitting back listening to my Pioneer VSX 4400 The display faded to black, came back on and faded to black again and remains black. The audio was not interrupted. Just curious if anybody has had the same issue and how you resolved it? Caps, fuse, failing solder connection? I do not have a problem with soldering new caps, etc. Just making sure I'm doing the correct cap is my weak point. Thanks!

I know nothing about the Pioneer, but some displays are backlit, and replacing a bulb or electro luminescent panel may be the needed fix.

Thanks for the reply. It's a 1989 receiver so probably LED/LCD. When I open it up I will definitely look for a back light source all the same.
