Dear AKers,

May I ask you to help me identify the TT from the photo below? Looks like a Pioneer from 70s to me, but I can not find the exact model number. Thank you in advance!

The arm tube, gimbals, counterweight and headshell all look like Technics. I suspect it's not a Technics but perhaps a Panasonic or, as Skriefal and Pat suggested, maybe a Realistic (the top line of the printing could easily read "Realistic"). , I believe some of them were made by Technics. I think it's probably not a Pioneer.

It's made by Technics. Looks like the equivalent of an SL-20 (belt drive, manual) in a wood base. But I agree that it does look like that's Realistic's logo on it. Check out the website radioshackcatalogs.com to peruse the old catalogs and you'll probably find it. Late '70s.

Looks like a Realistic LAB-240 to me. Definitely Technics built - I've swapped some parts from one with a Technics before.

If you look carefully you can see the flying R in Realistic -- there is the top curve of the R that extends to the left of the upright.

Dear TT experts, thank you all for your help! I've guessed it is a Pioneer since the armboard looks Pioneerish to me :)

Realistic LAB-270.....!

The turntable is a Realistic LAB-270! I'm looking at mine right now. The platter was made by Technics, so that may lead to some confusion. I bought this turntable almost 30 years ago when I managed a Radio Shack store. Except for a currently missing drive belt, it has always worked fine!
