On another note, do you or do you know anyone who can do serious speaker surgery, mainly to a tweeter and actually re-wind a new voice coil for existing diaphragm?

Not that this is the place for it, but rewinding a tweeter coil would be a lesson in tediousness. I know people who could do it, but can't think of anyone that would. I'd say find a new coil/diaphragm or a new tweeter.
