PNW Gathering 2011

I think I'll bring my oldest son to this one. He's 14 and he really likes vintage gear. Nothing too special to bring though. Of course, if I was to really try....I might find something special before April:scratch2: Would a set of JBL 100t3's, AR90's, or EPI 400's be worthy? My best stuff is way too heavy.:D

Brad - I won't be shy about asking. I would love to hear your EPI 400s.

I was thinking of bringing my Precision Fidelity M-7A amp and Nak. CA-7A pre amp but need some speakers to hook them up to. The amp. is 50wpc. Was hoping to find someone that was bringing' speakers........ Kinda figured there would be a pair or 2 layin' around.

It's back again! It's the 2011 gathering of Pacific Northwest AK members.
This event is both a show and shine, a place to bring the gear that you like and let others hear and see it, and a swap meet for unused audio equipment.
It will take place on Saturday, April 2nd 2011 at Kelso First Presbyterian Church, 215 Academy St. Kelso, WA 98626.
The entrance to the hall is in the rear of the building, off Church St.

The doors will be open at around 8:00 AM and will run until around 3:30 PM. Admission is $5 per person to cover the hall rental, and soft drinks/bottled water will be provided. There are several places to eat with a couple of blocks of the meeting hall. Any money leftover will be donated to AK.

There is a covered entrance, so everyone will be able to unload/load equipment without the danger of any of it getting wet.
All my stuff's at my farm in KY. Can I come to check out everybody elses stuff? Seriously, I'd love to meet some of the other PNW guys.

I'm planning on bringing a Sherwood 6020 pre amp, could bring a pair of Baby Advent II speakers.

Man, I'm gonna have to hit the estate sale circuit big if I want to have something to bring. But that is good. I need goals.

Even if you don't have any gear to bring, bring yourself! It is a fun event and everyone seems to bring something different. DIY to Vintage/New gear :D

I've got a bunch I wanted to bring, since I've got to thin the herd...considering most of them need something (e.g. foams/drivers), and I have no foams yet, it prolly ain't gonna happen.

Been checking out the Sherwood 6040 amps I want to bring down for swap/sell, some of them sound pretty good, might have to change my mind.

Room looks like crap, after I get some of the stuff in out should be time for a remodel.

I never buy stuff from people that know what it's worth. I'm too cheap. What started me on this quest was when, at a garage sale that was mostly kids toys, it seems grandpa donated his old stereo receiver that he replaced with surround. It was actually hidden under a table. I bought it for $5 and the speakers that went with it, including smoked plastic stands, for another five. The only damage was the AM radio antenna had been broken off. Other than that, it has been a really pleasurable workhorse.

Then I got a tape deck for $5 which works like new. And on and on.
Here are "stock" photos of the two items:

If any of you Seattle folks are nearby South Everett, WA and feel like helping a brotha out there is an amp I'm trying to get from a fellow AKer. PM me if you can help out. Otherwise I look forward to meeting some fine gents on saturday.

Darn, I won't be able to make it. :(

Just throwing this out, not trying to hijack the thread or anything: Would anyone be interested in a meetup closer to Corvallis/Albany? I might be interested in hosting a smaller gathering sometime. PM me.

I'm in Albany and work in Corvallis where I lived for over 20 yrs. PM sent.

This kind of thing is odd to me. I would think that since there is this big Seattle/Bellevue/tacoma megalopolis of people, the meet would probably be inside that geographic area. I will be in Kentucky this weekend, so I can't make it anyway, but I was just bringing it up. :)
